Okay, so first, the video.

For those who are interested in my thoughts on the process and the performance, read on. There’s nothing funny in there, it’s just a deconstruction of the whole experience.

Woohoo!

Stace | Stuff | Monday, December 3rd, 2007

Oh, man, what a rush! I did my bit in front of a nearly packed house at Zanies — it was among the most nerve wracking yet insanely fun things I’ve ever done.

Seriously, big thanks to all my friends who showed up tonight. I really agonized over whether to do this in front of strangers or people who knew me, and… wow. It really made a huge difference in both my comfort level and audience reaction. So, thanks so much! It means a lot to me!

Okay, now I relax with a beer and soak this up for a bit before deciding what I’ll do with this.

I’ll post a video when I get it.

Getting ready to perform

Stace | Stuff | Sunday, December 2nd, 2007

I’m putting the finishing touches on my bit tonight, and trying to commit it all to memory. The week in Ireland meant two missed classes, and I didn’t get up on the stage on my last class before the trip. And, the last time I did get up on stage, I hadn’t prepared adequately after we skipped a week of classes.

Long and short of it is that the last time I got up on stage with any amount of material I was prepared for was October 22. Ha! Clearly, I’m insane.

But, I like my bit. I feel pretty good about it, it’s got a fair amount of chuckles and some good solid laughs in there. I just need to work on the closer — I’m not happy with that at all. But, that’s what tonight is for.

Wish me luck. For anyone reading this in Chicago who wants to see the show, check out the details.
